When my horse Nicholas and I were on the set of the movie Selma and we filmed the scene on the bridge when the police ran at the peaceful protesters, the emotion of the real event pervaded our reenactment and all of us, including Nicholas, were distraught and damaged by the gravity of the day.  For Nicholas, I wonder how much of his traumatic past comes to the surface when he is faced with stress. Today, the news of the day takes me back there. I don’t fear it because I want to know and feel what others have experienced. I have learned through my faith how to turn my emotions into positive actions and how to help others.

At the end of the day, I am at peace because my intentions are pure. Live in love for yourself and others.
